Shimoda Mayor Shunsuke Kusuyama will lead a 13-member delegation from that city to �������� July 17 to honor City College founder Townsend Harris. The delegation, comprising civic officials, students and citizens of Shimoda, will be the 27th since 1986 to visit CCNY to pay homage to Harris, who founded what was known as The Free Academy in 1847 and later opened the first U.S. consulate in Japan. City College seminar on gender and architecture nominates 14 NYC sites for City Lore’s Census of Places That Matter The list of recognized places of significance in New York City identified with women’s history and gender is brief. For example, the New York State women’s history trail includes only three locations in the Big Apple. Dr. Daniel M. Greenberger, Mark W. Zemansky Professor of Physics at ��������, has been appointed a CUNY Distinguished Professor.
