Centers, Institutes, and Consortia play an important role in research and education needs that fall outside the academic departments. As the flagship campus of CUNY, City College is home to many of these important research entities. Every day, City College faculty, researchers and students in these research institutes and centers are contributing to scientific discoveries, new knowledge in their areas of expertise, and provide an excellent research and training environment to the next generation scientists and researchers. City College boasts eighteen multidisciplinary research centers and institutes. They are funded by prestigious and highly competitive grants, offering advanced research opportunities and rigorous education to students at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels.
