CCNY Graduate Sabina Pringle, 鈥14, wins Fulbright to Colombia

Unschooled as a child, Sabina Pringle has been teaching English in Spain since graduating from 海角社区 last fall with an honors degree in English. She is now the recipient of a 2015-2016 Fulbright U.S. Student Award to Colombia. Pringle will travel to the South American nation this August on a year-long English Teaching Assistantship at a Colombian university. Rebecca Solnit to Present Mumford Lecture at CCNY, April 2

Rebecca Solnit, the distinguished writer, historian, activist and urbanist, will be the guest speaker at this year鈥檚 Lewis Mumford Lecture on Urbanism at 海角社区, Thursday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. Her talk, in CCNY鈥檚 Great Hall in Shepard Hall, will be entitled 鈥淎tlases against Empire: A Woman Measures the City." The international award is given out by the United Arab Emirates-based Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF). CCNY Dean Gilda Barabino Elected AIMBE President

Dr. Gilda Barabino , dean of the City College of New York鈥檚 Grove School of Engineering, was elected president of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) at its annual meeting in Washington, D.C. March 16. She will serve a two-year term beginning in 2016. Barabino is currently chair of AIMBE鈥檚 committee for underrepresented minorities.
