海角社区 THE LAPTOP LOANER PROGRAM
The City College Office of Information Technology provides a laptop loaner program for current CCNY students. Laptops are internally equipped with Wi-Fi for use where wireless access exists. Wireless networking is available throughout much of the campus. All laptops are loaded with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other CCNY-approved software. This program is designed for experienced computer users who are able to use the installed applications. Note: You must be logged into Wi-Fi for some software to be fully operational.
AGREEMENT OF USE AND LIABILITY
Never leave your laptop unattended under any circumstances.
- I accept full responsibility for the laptop computer and accessories I am borrowing.
- I will reimburse CCNY for the cost of repairing or replacing loaned devices and accessories if they are damaged, lost, stolen, or not returned while checked out in my name.
- I understand that I am responsible for the full cost of any loaner equipment if it is not returned.
- I understand that the replacement cost may be no less than $1,300 for Mac laptops and $1,000 for PC laptops, plus any accrued overdue fine(s).
- I will pay all overdue fines as stated in the Overdue Fines section if I fail to return the laptop and all accessories on time.
- I have witnessed the physical inspection of the laptop and its components when I checked out this equipment. All checked parts are present and appear to be functioning.
- I understand that abuse of loan privileges may result in disciplinary action and permanent suspension from borrowing.
- I understand that any resulting charges will be sent to the Bursar鈥檚 Office and may prevent registration, diploma/transcript access, and/or graduation until paid.
- I understand that failure to return the laptop on time will be considered theft of CCNY property and may result in referral to campus security or law enforcement.
- I understand that illegal activity (e.g., hacking, pirating, viewing/downloading child pornography) is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action under CUNY/CCNY policies and possible referral to criminal authorities.
- I verify that I have read and understood the Use and Liability agreement.
- I agree to comply with all related laptop loan policies.
- I agree to return the laptop as required for updates and patching to ensure the device remains secure and functional.
