The Dream US Internship Funding Program

海角社区 is excited to share an opportunity for TheDream.US Scholars to take part in paid internship and Micro-Internship opportunities funded by TheDream.US. If you are a TheDream.US Scholar with a work permit or ITIN (DACA is not required), you are eligible for these paid experiences that allow you to gain and demonstrate skills, explore career paths, build networks, and earn payment for your internship experience.

Eligibility criteria for 2025 internship program:
  • Must be a TheDream.US Scholar currently enrolled at City College;       
  • Have a valid SSN or ITIN; and       
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher       
  • Have secured an unpaid internship for summer or fall 2025 
Internship/Fellowship Requirements: Your internship/fellowship must:
  1. Provide between 40-100 hours in a remote, on-site or hybrid setting (can be on- or off-campus)
  2. Have a start and end date, that is determined prior to the start of the experience
  3. Have a dedicated staff member from internship/fellowship site that will serve as the student鈥檚 supervisor and provide routine feedback and training
  4. Be educational in nature
  5. Be a brand new or a recently acquired experience (within the past 30 days), and not one that you have been participating in prior to. Ongoing experiences or jobs are not eligible opportunities. 
Restrictions/Experiences that Do NOT Qualify:
  1. Vulnerable Populations Policy: Scholar Interns and Fellows are not allowed to have direct interaction with vulnerable populations (i.e. minors, the elderly, etc.) per Parker Dewey鈥檚 policy.  Opportunities that have direct interaction with vulnerable populations within a school, hospital, or assisted living facility are not allowed. Feasible alternatives to these opportunities could instead include curriculum development, research, data analysis, or administrative projects.
  2. Personal/Family Business: Internship or fellowship experiences at your personal business or your family member鈥檚 business is prohibited.
  3. Supervisor Requirement: The internship/fellowship supervisor cannot be a family member.
  4. Ineligibility of Ongoing Roles: Only new or recently acquired experiences (within the last 30 days) qualify.  Ongoing experiences or jobs are not eligible opportunities.

Eligible applicants can receive up to $2,000 per internship experience. After review and approval of the internship experience, scholars are paid approximately $20 per hour for their internship.

Search for the internship application by typing "City College" into the Search bar.  Our standardized application is titled 鈥2025 TheDream.US Internship Funding Application 鈥 海角社区.鈥 Please make sure you add 鈥淭heDream.US鈥 in the Affiliation section of your Parker Dewey student profile, otherwise you will not be able to view this application.   

Internship funds are disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.
