Jumpstart your tech career with this CompTia A+ Certificate program designed to prepare you for entry-level roles in IT support and the CompTIA A+ certification exams. Through instructor-led online lectures, students will build a solid understanding of IT fundamentals, including system setup, device configuration, basic networking, security principles, and support procedures. The curriculum emphasizes real-world applications to help students develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in today’s technology-driven environments.
Course Description
Get training in entry level computer and network support roles while you prepare for the industry recognized CompTIA A+ certification. You will learn to install, configure and maintain PCs, mobile devices and software for end users; explore basics of networking and security forensics; properly and safely diagnose, resolve and document common hardware and software issues; and discuss basics of scripting, virtualization, desktop imaging and deployment. General topics include hardware and network troubleshooting, operating systems, operational procedures, security, virtualization and cloud computing, and software troubleshooting. Upon successful completion of this course, you can take both CompTIA 1201 and 1202 exams.

Juan Rodriguez
Professor Juan Rodriguez holds a Doctorate in Education Technology from NJCU, a Master’s degree in Cyber Security from Mercy College and a BA in Psychology from John Jay. He is currently Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity at SUNY Westchester. He is certified in CompTIA ITF+ A+, Network + Security+, Cloud+, and CySA+ and has a background teaching hardware skills as well as software and cybersecurity. He has also taught as an adjunct at BMCC, Lincoln Tech, Mercy College, Union County CC, and Guttman CC. He also has a podcast called Technology Tap.
