
PS 161 students rehearsing for "High School Musical Jr."
The Graduate Program in Educational Theatre at 海角社区 is collaborating with for a presentation of Disney鈥檚 鈥淗igh School Musical Jr.鈥 This is the eighth collaboration with the Harlem-based school.
The students of PS 161鈥檚 drama club have been working under the direction of Wendy Rojas, drama teacher and CCNY education theatre alumna, and candidates in The Graduate Program in Educational Theatre.
Candidates in the CCNY Educational Theatre graduate program, directed by Jennifer Katona, provide artistic support to students in the drama club as they prepare for their performance. The collaboration is part of the Fundamentals of Teaching Theatre course.
The middle school students will sing songs from the Disney musical including 鈥淲e're All in This Together," "What I've Been Looking For" and "Get'cha Head in the Game."
鈥淗igh School Musical Jr.鈥 takes place on Friday, December 14 at 6 p.m. with a community potluck at 5 p.m. before the show. The performance is free and open to the public, and tickets can be reserved .
