Dominican Legacy Gala Honor for Angel Est茅vez

As part of its 20th anniversary gala, the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (DSI) will Saturday, December 6, recognize City College Assistant Professor Angel L. Est茅vez and other standouts of Dominican heritage. Dr. Est茅vez and 21 high achievers will receive collector鈥檚 editions of the DSI鈥檚 鈥Dominican Blue Book鈥 at the Dominican Intellectual Legacy Gala 6:30 p.m. in The Great Hall at CCNY.
 
A member of the foreign languages and literatures and the former director of the master鈥檚 program in Spanish, Professor Est茅vez is profiled in the book. Eight City College alumni also appear in the publication that will be officially released in February 2015.
 
鈥淭he book features a handful of graduates who epitomize the educational trajectory of Dominicans at the City University of New York (CUNY),鈥 said Dr. Ramona Hern谩ndez, director of the City College-based DSI.
 
In addition to the Professor Est茅vez and the other 鈥淏lue Book鈥 subjects, the DSI will also honor several individuals and institutions that helped advance the institution鈥檚 mission.
