The G-RISE program sponsors professional development activities that vary from year to year. They have included a Research Identity Bootcamp for each cohort of newly appointed trainees, biweekly meetings, mentor and trainee research presentations, workshops on oral and written research communication for a range of audiences, and discussions with scientists whose career journeys illustrate a range of academic, government, and private employment environments. Individual Development Plans and a Path-to-the-Professions plan are designed and updated annually by trainee-mentor partners. The program promotes professional development activities sponsored by the CUNY Graduate Center, CCNY and CUNY ASRC (B3 Seminar Schedule), the New York Academy of Sciences, and other organizations. Many of these activities are self-designed, but we also draw freely on outside expertise. Each trainee has allowances for research supplies and to present research findings at a national or regional professional meeting.
Recent workshops are summarized in the Activities section of this site.
