Sophia Lopez is majoring in comparative literature and minoring in history. She will be researching the use of animalistic symbolism in relation to women in classical mythology and literature. Sophia will be studying the tropes of metamorphism: animal as the bridegroom, animal as confinement, and others. She aims to research the different animal/feminine tropes found in both Greco-Roman mythology and gothic literature, with the objective of making a connection between animals and gender-based violence. Upon completing her bachelor鈥檚 degree, she plans to pursue a PhD to continue her research of literature and culture.
