Chris Acosta is a Puerto Rican born in the South Bronx and an alum of Borough of Manhattan Community College. He is currently a BA/MA student in the Psychology Department with a concentration in research and plans to obtain a BS in biology to complement his knowledge in psychology. His research interests include social neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and behavioral/cognitive neurology. In particular, understanding neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and completing translational research to bring basic research into clinical practice are his main goals. He will pursue an MD/PhD in behavioral neurology and cognitive neuroscience after his time at CCNY.
