CCNY Professors of Jazz Studies — Suzanne Pittson and Mike Holober — will present a concert of voice and piano duets on Thursday, March 20 at 12:30pm in Shepard Hall 95. All About Jazz calls Pittson “more than just a singer, but a jazz musician. With a fluid phrasing and stunning tone, she uses her voice as another instrument, improvising and playing with the melodies.” And the Midwest Record calls Holober “A sure-handed modern master.” This musical dialogue will certainly offer a fresh take on compositions from the jazz canon.
